Voice Activation

Voice activation is a useful tool for those who wish to listen to, rather than read, the contents of COSCA’s website.

By following the procedure below, you will be able to activate voice facility on your computer to hear the .pdf documents (not “word” documents) you select on the COSCA website.

To use voice activation, you will require:

• to have installed the latest version of Adobe Reader. This can be downloaded by clicking on the Adobe icon on the COSCA website.
• speakers installed and operational, on your computer

Procedure to activate voice:

1. Ensure that the speakers are operational
2. Open the .pdf document you want to hear from the COSCA website
3. Select “Save As” and save the document to your own computer
4. Open the saved .pdf document
5. Select “View” on menu bar
6. Select “Read out Loud”
7. Select “Read this document or page”

You can now hear this document being read out load.

You can also save this document to a CD or Audio tape in the usual manner.
